Competitive Examination for Recruitment to the post of Sub-Inspector in the


Subordinate Food & Supplies Service, Grade-lll, under Food & Supplies Department, Govt. of West Bengal,2018


SCHEME & SYLLABUS


A. Scheme of Examination: The examination will be held in two successive stages, viz. (1) Written Test (Objective Type). (2) Personality Test, as detailed below.


Written Test: 100 marks.


The examination will consist of only one paper containing Multiple choice objective type questions on General Studies (50 marks) and Arithmetic (50 marks) and having 1 hour and 30 minutes duration.


Personality Test: 20 marks. A limited number of candidates selected merit-wise on the results of the Written Test will be


called to appear at the Personality Test


Final Merit List will be prepared on the basis of the total marks obtained in the Written


Examination and the marks obtained in the Personality Test.


The Public Service Commission will have the discretion to fix qualifying marks in the Written Test or in the Personality Test and in the aggregate.


B. Syllabus for the Written Test: A. The Examination will consist of only one paper on


(1) General studies (Matters of common experience including every day science, current events and problems with special reference to India, elementary knowledge of Indian history and Indian


Geography. (1) Arithmetic (Questions will be set on the basis of the syllabus of Madhyamik Examination of the WBBSE) with Ment
